Go-Keto Meter variation in test results
If you feel that you are experiencing an unusual variation in results from measurements with the Go-Keto Meter, there are a few important things to consider.
Readings are never 100% accurate and there is a margin of error, so you may get a few different numbers even from the same blood drop! Always make sure your hands are clean before testing. As far as studies have shown using all fingers is fine and even recommended as repeated pricks to one finger can give bruising and pain. All meters can have plus or minus 15% away from a true reading, 95% of the time. For example, a variation between two results of 10mg, is + or – 5 mg. At first this might seem like a lot, but actually is a high accuracy of +/- 5%.
If you do think that the Go Keto meter is defect then you can verify it by doing a test with the control solution. For more information please see our article about how to perform a control test.
We hope that the above clarification has helped you to understand that small variations in results are normal as long as they stay within acceptable limits. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you still have questions.
