What is Curcumin?
Turmeric is a spice and originates from the root of the Curcuma longa plant. The turmeric is created by boiling, drying and then grinding the roots of the plant.
Especially in Indian cuisine, curries, Turmeric is widely used and has a mild bitter taste. Turmeric is also a solid component of curry powder and gives it its yellow color and specific taste.

The active ingredient in Turmeric is curcuminoids, of which the main one is curcumin . Other substances are demethoxy curcumin and bisdemethoxy curcumin.
