I have been interested in nutrition and health since I was eighteen. I was going to attend the University of Applied Sciences for Nutrition and Dietetics, but things turned out differently. After completing VWO, I studied analytical and physical chemistry at the University of Applied Sciences in Delft. For many years, I worked in various laboratories in the corporate sector—a valuable and enjoyable time.
Meanwhile, I met a wonderful man, and together we had a daughter and a son. My interest in nutrition and health remained strong, and I took numerous courses in this field. When the last company I worked for relocated, I finally decided to turn my hobby into my profession. I went back to school and obtained my diploma in the four-year higher professional education (HBO) program to become an Orthomolecular Naturopathic Therapist. After that, I specialized further in ketogenic therapy, orthomolecular gut therapy, and BrainQ (read more about this on the treatment methods pages). In practice, these three areas can be combined.
Gaining all this knowledge opened up a new world for me, and the wonderful thing is that my previous field, chemistry, aligns with it. I am still amazed by how incredibly complex our body is and what can be achieved when we take a closer look at what our body actually needs. Every year, I take refresher courses to keep expanding and applying my knowledge in practice.
It is wonderful to help people with health issues get back on the right track and provide them with healthier years ahead! This can be done at my cozy practice, The Healthy Apple, in Hellevoetsluis, and occasionally online as well.
