Error E-3 means that the blood sample was applied to the test strip before the meter was ready to perform the measurement.
Possible causes
What should you do?
Important
Always follow the correct testing sequence: insert the strip first, wait for the flashing blood-drop symbol, and only then apply the blood sample.
Error E-4 means that the meter reads the test strip as used or contaminated.
The meter believes that the strip has already been used and therefore cannot perform the measurement.
How can this happen?
This usually happens when the test is performed in the wrong order or when blood is applied before the meter is ready.
A. The test was performed in the wrong order
If you have not used a glucose or ketone meter before, you may accidentally perform the test in the wrong sequence.
Do not apply blood to the strip first and then insert the strip into the meter.
Always insert the test strip into the meter first. Only apply blood after the meter displays the flashing blood-drop symbol.
B. The blood-drop symbol was not yet flashing
If blood is applied too quickly, the meter is not ready yet. This may cause error E-4.
Correct testing procedure
Important tip
Each test strip contains a built-in capillary tube with a small opening at the tip.
When the tip of the strip touches the blood drop, the capillary tube automatically draws the blood into the strip.
Only a small blood drop is required. Do not apply blood or control solution to the flat top surface of the test strip, as the liquid will not enter the capillary channel correctly.
This error code means that there is not enough blood on the test strip to perform the test.
Possible causes
What should you do?
Yes, you can measure both glucose and ketones with the Go-Keto Meter using one finger prick.
How it works
The small bottle included in your starter kit contains control solution. Use it to check whether your meter and test strips are working correctly.
How to perform a control solution test
Result within the control range
Your meter and test strips are working correctly.
Result outside the control range
Repeat the test with a new test strip. If the problem continues, contact our customer service team.
It is normal for home test results to differ from laboratory results or even from another home test.
Why can results vary?
Important to know
