If you are looking for an easy recipe with just 4 ingredients to remind you of your favorite chocolate spread, you are on the right page.

I used pecan nuts to realize this chocolate spread. Pecan nuts only contains 14 g of carbs per 100g, are a good source of magnesium and potassium and have a high content of antioxidants. Pecan nuts are a great product to consume when you are on a keto diet.

Serves: 15

Ingredients

(For 1 small jar)

  • 150g pecan nuts
  • 30g sugar-free cocoa powder
  • 30g powder erythtritol (or you can use « normal » erythritol that you can blend before using to make it powdered)
  • 1 tablespoon walnut oil, or nut oil, or MCT oil

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven on 200°C. Put the pecan nuts on a baking sheet and let them roast in the oven for 8 – 10 minutes. You might want to stay around and check that they don’t start burning.
  2. In a food processor or a blender, add the roasted pecan nuts, powdered erythritol, cocoa powder and the oil. Mix all the ingredients together. At the beginning it will look like a powder. Be patient, after 2 minutes the oil contained in the pecan nuts will be released and you will obtain a kind of butter.
  3. You can now enjoy this treat on a keto slice of bread, pancakes or even use it in other preparations like cookies or muffins.

Tips: I used the MCT Oil Ketosene Energy to give it a little flavor of vanilla. Of course, you can also add flavoring in it if you want to.
